Acne Paper No. 11 - The Studio Issue

To work in a place that stimulates new thoughts has always been at he very heart of Acne. When the company was founded in 1996 the concept was simply that - to have a space where ideas flowed freely without the restrictions of a conventional organization. By not following traditional paths, but allowing a more adventurous outlook on how things could be done.

Over the years Acne Studios have become beloved places to work for people of all ages and nationalities across the world. It is the joy of being part of an environment of change that inspired us to create an issue on the subject of the Studio - the place where creativity unfolds.

By linking the past and the present it has been fascinating to explore how much studios have changed throughout history, but even more how much has remained the same. While one studio can be the most private of sanctums, a place for solitary artistic creation, the next is the opposite, bustling with collective energy. Some studios can be a center for social exchange, brimming with liveliness and a feeling that anything can happen, and sometimes it does.
